Suggested for kids ages 5-12 and their families.

KidsJam workshops are interactive programs that connect kids and families with community teaching artists to learn about the people, cultures, and musical traditions from around the world as they make music, move, and enjoy other creative activities.

KidsJam workshops are interactive sessions for children ages 5-12 to experience musical performances, get involved through creative activities and movement, and learn about the people, cultures, and sounds behind the music.

All programs take place on Thursday or Friday mornings at 10:30 am in the Schubert Club Music Museum, Landmark Center, Downtown Saint Paul unless otherwise listed.

In addition to our programs for young people, we are proud to partner with several area community centers and schools to bring these interactive music workshops to students in after-school programs.

2025-26 KidsJam Season

The OK Factor & Jaerv: Traditions

October 23 and 24, 2025

The OK Factor & Jaerv weave traditional Scandinavian, American, and contemporary folk music to create a tapestry of rhythmic intricacies and inspiring melodies, with a unique instrumentation. Join the seven of them as they introduce traditional Scandinavian instruments, share about their transatlantic collaboration, and follow the music back in time and into the future and carry home the palpable joy the music embodies!

TaikoArts Midwest’s Ensō Daiko

February 19 and 20, 2026

Loud, energetic performances that combine music, dance, culture, and pure athleticism. The group regularly premieres new work adding their unique voice to the expanding canon and innovation of North American taiko.

Alma Brasileira

April 16 and 17, 2026

Local musicians Clea Galhano (recorder) and Joan Griffith (guitar and cavaquinho) perform a vibrant Brazilian repertoire, highlighting diverse musical styles shaped by African and Portuguese influences.
